Today I experienced a blissful memory. I was driving home from the max station. My Semisonic cd, which I bought for $5 at Everyday Music, was playing. I suddenly remembered a movie that I used to watch constantly as a kid...

Flight of the Navigator was a great film about a kid who is kidnapped by a robot like alien ship and is transported eight years into the future. When he attempts to resume his life, he realizes that nothing remains the same except himself. He decides to reboard the ship, which is calling to him from it's place of imprisonment at NASA. What proceeds are many antics of the alien kind. Eventually, with the help of the same alien who took him, he goes back into the past.

My mom taped that movie off the of Wonderful World of Disney that played a different movie every Sunday night. It even had the introduction by Michael Eisner. I watched it so often that I can still replay most major parts in my head, including the scene where all the aliens and the boy dance to a Beach Boys song.

In that moment at the light, I realized how much I love my mom and all the simple things she did for me as a kid.

I have been having city withdrawls over the last couple of days. It's a little sad to me that I am no longer in NE. As I was getting off work tonight I felt the utter need for a fix. I called Joel and asked him to join me downtown for dinner. He fought throught traffic so we could enjoy a nice evening on NW 23rd. I still miss living in the city, but I feel much better now.

What is justice? I have been asking myself this question everyday for the last several weeks since I finished Atlas Shrugged. I think this question begs another...what is truth? Neither of these are easy questions. Are truth and justice a matter of perspective or are they higher ideals that always exist? Who enforces justice and who determines truth?

These questions have been plaguing me. Hopefully soon I will have something to write about the outcomes of these thoughts.

What do you think?

10th and Ankeny with my folks...

A pizza delivery guy walked by and said that the bikes belonged to some group. I can't remember the name, but he stated that they take the bikes up to Washington Park and then race them down the hill. Apparently, anybody is welcome to join them.

I am currently watching CNN and Judge Judy is on Larry King Live. He asked her what she thought of Law and Order and she stated that she's a Law and Order junky. Yes! I am not alone! Seconds before Larry asked that question, I was thinking to myself how I couldn't wait for the show to start on TNT. Judge Judy stated that she constantly watches the reruns and even if she has seen the episode she doesn't change the channel. Larry seconded her feelings for this great show. He stated that he watches it any chance that he gets. I knew there was a reason I liked Larry and Judy. How can one not love Law and Order?

Bush's new judicial nomination proves that he is the dumbest president this country has ever seen.
