Sylvia: Not soup.
Clerk: Why not?
Sylvia: Because soup is liquid.

During the pre-show the of Super Bowl they talked about how the Superdome is soon to reopen. I immediately found that to be repugnant. Thousands of people stayed there after Katrina and were trapped. It's now a monument to the inefficiency of the federal government and the tragedy that was the flooding of New Orleans. People died there. How could anyone ever be a spectator, sitting in those seats, knowing that thousands of people suffered in that very place for days?
The Danish embassy in Beirut was torched today by protesters. Frankly, I think violence crosses the line, however I understand why Lebanese protesters are so angry. Publishing caricatures of Muhammad in the first place was disrespectful. I understand that freedom of speech is important, but the line was crossed when the pictures were re-published several times in many different European newspapers. They pretty much said fuck you to Muslims around the world in an effort to make a point about free speech.
